Discounting yourself in the staging industry should not be normal.
And yet, day after day, I hear stagers say they lost a project because someone else came in cheaper.

And listen, I get it.

It stings.

But the person offering the lowest price may think they’re doing something smart… when really, they may be building a business designed not to lose instead of building a business designed to win.

And those are two very different things.

Because when you are making decisions from fear, the question becomes:

“How low can I go so they say yes?”

But when you are making decisions from strength, the question becomes:

“How do I communicate the value of what we actually bring?” (FYI that's where I come in)

That is the shift.

Profitable staging businesses are not built by chasing every person who says no.

They are built by knowing who you serve, understanding your value, and focusing on the people willing to say yes to the expertise, strategy, inventory, labor, planning, and transformation you bring to the table.

We all have value to bring somebody.

So we have to stop acting like we don’t.

If we want the staging industry to keep growing and be taken seriously inside the real estate world, we cannot keep operating like our work is optional, cheap, or easy to replace.

Your eye has value.

Your inventory has value.

Your process has value.

Your team has value.

Your ability to help a property show better, photograph better, and connect with buyers has value.

So the question is:

Are you building your business from strength?

Or are you building it from fear?

Because in business, you cannot build something strong while constantly playing not to lose.

At some point, you have to decide you’re here to play to win.

One thing I love about my job is getting to experience incredible homes and capture all the beautiful details that make them unforgettable.
